The sov individual is a good read, but not from the perpective of becoming sovereign. I was fascinated in the fortune telling aspects given how things have transpired since it was written.

And an unusual one - Early Retiremernt Extreme by Jacob Lund Fisker. Its a book about money, but it has a system for figuring out what you really want and how to become more free.

Nassim Taleb's Skin in the Game. He goes over how society has structurally removed a lot of safeguards by removing negative incentive and consequences for bad behavior. Many now enjoy asymmetric upside and little to no downside (mostly through government intervention capping losses). Antifragile is also a great book of his.
I've actually never read any of his books. I am generally aware, but never specifically looked into his writing. thanks Norsey.
read The Anarchist's Handbook. reading it now and it is great. best in that category so far.

As for a recommendation... you didn't mention genres. I'll start with the basics: George Orwell's 1984, The Sovereign Individual, Anatomy of the State by Murray N. Rothbard.
great books read em all and recommend them! 1984 is sad reading in retrospect.
