do not recommend trying double your ram by buying a second pair of your exact same current ram model. I've been booting in and out of the bios all day, tweaking things, OS errors, Kernel errors, flashing usb disks, memtests. Couldn't get it to run stable above 3600Mhz (dual channel should be 6000Mhz).
SIGH.
At least nothing is corrupted and I'm back in my trusty 32gb ram system.

Haha ohhh man I feel you....I have many sticks of ram and I've played this game a number of times.
There is nothing in tech that will make you feel dumber than when something that is supposed to be simple doesn't work. You can have well over a decade of experience dealing with complex issues and be reduced to an old person trying to use a phone for the first time in minutes.
