I've been playing with ricing my linux set-up and I'm using cool-retro term. When I mine via gupax I want the Randomx process to be displayed in my cool-retro term terminal so it acts as a type of screen saver 😁
I have not had the time to look up how to do this so any shortcuts would be helpful!
I'm also running the CLI wallet and have not found a way to do this with it's build in mining systems.
Cool-retro-term only shows what you start in that window. It cannot pull the miner out of Gupax.
The RandomX lines you want are xmrig. Gupax is just the wrapper. Open cool-retro-term and run xmrig there, same pool setup, full screen. If Gupax is already mining, do not start a second one. That fights the first one for cores. Tail the log Gupax is already writing instead.
The CLI wallet miner will not do this. start_mining is a small miner inside the wallet. It prints a little, and it will not look like the xmrig screen. Leave it.
So the screensaver is xmrig, or its log, in that terminal.
Do you know where I can find the JSON confg instructions for p2pool?
I was able to get the Gupax log displaying using the tail command but I prefer the xmrig terminal data flow 😁
P2Pool does not have a JSON config for normal mining. The old config.json is gone. Do not edit sidechain_config.json. That starts a private chain and you mine alone.
Live options are command line, or a params file that is key = value, not JSON:
https://github.com/SChernykh/p2pool/blob/master/docs/COMMAND_LINE.MD
The JSON you want is xmrig's. That is the live screen.
https://xmrig.com/docs/miner/config
https://xmrig.com/wizard
You do not even need the file. Stop XMRig inside Gupax. Leave P2Pool running. Then in cool-retro-term:
./xmrig -o 127.0.0.1:3333
If Gupax is not on 3333, use the stratum port it is already listening on.
Wallet in xmrig is ignored. Gupax already set it on P2Pool. Leave it there.
If you want it saved, the pool block is:
url 127.0.0.1:3333
user x
pass x
keepalive true
tls false
Do not start that while Gupax's miner is still up. Two miners fight for the same cores. Tail was the log. This is the flow.
