pull down to refresh

Alright, so I tried out this vibecoding thing and I had the fun idea to launch a new blockchain with FCMP++ enabled at genesis, fully merge-mined with XMR - of course with P2Pool-compatibility.

Syncing a stressnet node takes a while, so if you want to try out FCMP++ before its mainnet release, this is an easy and fast way to do it - assuming you're used to using the terminal.

Furthermore I'd like to see the merge-mining ecosystem for Monero to grow - even beyond Tari and DarkFi (and P2Pool) - so this is also supposed to show that it's relatively easy to add merge-mining with XMR to a blockchain.

I have a small guide on how to start merge-mining Fullnero (FNR):

If you're someone who has played around with Monero a little, this process will feel very familiar.

I also modified the block explorer to expose the AuxPoW header fields which might be interesting to some.
Currently there's 0 blocks though, I'll point some hash power at it shortly after this post is up, so you can consider this fairly launched, 0% premine and all the good stuff.

Would anyone be interested in a Simplex group? This is obviously not a project to make money with, so I won't bother with actively trying to get exchange listings or similar, but it might still be fun to interact with some of you.

Whats the point though? Why would anyone use it over Monero?

I think the OP explained it pretty well but the TL;DR is that it allows you to try out FCMP++ without having to sync a testnet node and keeping up with the stressnet - a Fullnero node is synced in less than a second.

Also like I said, I think merge-mining is cool and I'd love for Monero to become similar to Litecoin in that regard.

As for your second question, no one should use it over Monero - that's why it requires you to run a Monero node to be able to mine it - but if you're someone like me that likes to play around with different cryptocurrencies: This offers FCMP++ and AuxPoW via P2Pool which is a unique combo.

Nice, that's a cool project. I'm sure some people here will hop on.

It might make sense to merge-mine some in case it catches on ;)
I'm joking, but merge-mining is basically 0 cost at this point, a full-node is currently below 2 MB.
