I think religion coevolved with humans as a means of dealing with uncertainty generally, to teach and condition values, and to explain things they lacked the capacity to explain otherwise. I also think spirituality and religion is useful and good when done correctly and disastrous when done incorrectly. I would argue correctness is determined by the fruits of the religion and the truthfulness/usefulness of its dictates to its followers. Sounds like a true Austrian view of morality.
