Reposts
Users can now only create posts to one Turf at a time. After a post is live, users can repost it to other Turfs from the "..." dropdown menu next to the post's title. Reposts solve an issue caused by limitations of Monero on-chain transactions.
In upstream Stacker News, users can post to several Territories at the same time because lightning allows splitting payments easily and cheaply. So a posting fee can go to several Turf owners or the rewards wallet all at once. But in Stasher News, when users would post to several Turfs at once, the posting fees were unfairly credited all to the first Turf on the list.
Now if users want extended reach by cross-posting to multiple Turfs, users will have to pay for each repost to a new Turf. This ensures Turf revenue is not lost and Turf owners are properly compensated.

The Monerowall is built!
Users can gate their content behind a Monero Paywall, the "Monerowall". Unlock can be set to an individual per-user threshold and/or a global threshold. The Monerowall is intended for long-form content, articles, guides, video or podcast reveals, and any other useful or valuable information.

In order to prevent low-effort, poor quality, bait and switch or not-as-advertised scams, Monerowalled content, users who paid to unlock the Monerowalled content are allowed to rate the content from one to three stars. The overall rating is then shown next to the posts' titles, warning any potential user if the content does not meet quality/accuracy standards so that more users don't pay to unlock the bad content.

Daily Ops
Daily Ops are a complete rework of the previous system in which users were gifted free posts and daily replies. Previously, new users received 2 free replies per day and one free post per month, and established users received 5 replies per day and 5 free posts per month for doing nothing.
Users still receive free replies and posts but there is no longer a new user/established user distinction. All users are treated equally and receive 1 free reply per day and 1 free post per month by default without needing to take any action. This allows brand new users to start talking or ask questions without needing any Monero.
Additional free replies and posts are earned weekly for engaging in basic actions such as upvoting content, posting or commenting, boosting, etc. For most users who use the platform normally, they will never have to think about this or go out of their way to earn the free replies and posts. Just using the platform as you do normally, tipping and posting, earns the average user the same or more free replies and posts every week/month than under the previous system.
The Daily Ops encourages users to be active and engage instead of rewarding users for inactivity. The Daily Ops quests tracker lives in every users' profile, visible only to them.

The Daily Ops consists of two daily tasks, and a flame streak counter. The first ops task is always to send an upvote, the second task is random: make a comment/post, comment on a post with no replies, or boost one of your posts. Completing both of the daily ops tasks lights your flame and gives you a flame badge next to your name. Keep the streak going for additional rewards/perks throughout the week.
Note: the coin badge users received for tipping content is completely removed.
Other improvements in this update include: accessibility improvements for TalkBack users.
I want to give a sincere thanks to all our users who joined (over 200 now!) and since launch and have shared content, tipped users, made suggestions, and reported bugs. It is only because of you that the team at Stasher News had the motivation needed to keep going, fix bugs, and develop new features like the ones in this update.
And a really really really special thanks to all Turf owners who took a gamble on a new platform and paid to earn a Turf while Stasher isn't even one month old yet. Stasher News started development entirely out-of-pocket and we paid for one year of server hosting costs upfront, out of pocket as well, not knowing if we would have even one user come launch. Your support is what allows Stasher to continue to grow and have a future.

pay-to-subscribe?Regarding the Reposts, I don't know much about Monero or blockchain, but isn't there a way to create a transaction for each turf, and when the stake pays, it is sourced from one source but distributed to many?

Can you describe how you envision pay-to-subscribe would would work? Pay to whom, subscribe to what/whom?
As for the reposts, our goal is to make all payments direct to the author/turf owner. There is no stake. We don't want to take custody of people's money. When you make a tip, it goes directly to the authors wallet. When you pay a turf posting fee, directly to the turf owner. So with onchain Monero transactions we would have to have users make multiple transactions in order to split payments, which is a no-go in terms of user experience. Batched transactions are only possible from your own wallet. Stasher can't construct a split payment and show you a QR because Stasher doesn't know which outputs are in your wallet, Monero protects that info.

site going foss is cool. looks like there are also daily assignments now. feels like a game. but i have the "first responder" one and cannot find posts without replies. i think it's a good problem to have. thanks for building this!
pro tip: first responder counts for replies to comments too, not only posts. This reply is a first responder to your comment. Lots of comments with no replies to be found!
