hey, you are right to point it out. My GPU doesn’t help the Monero network, however what I meant was that the hashrate that I produced mining CR29 is converted and added to my hashrate from my Monero wallet. This feature is importsnt for very low hashrate like my server.
the point is that if homelabs would use their combined ressources, they could get decent payouts. I am a believer than once someone receive XMR, they will value it.
I have tried P2Pool initially but I had so little hashrate that I needed to use nano pool and wasn’t finding shares and even less blocks. For me the combined hashrate with my GPU is what makes me compromise and lean towards MoneroOcean.
Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, same shape as you. The mining isn't a separate stack. It sits on the homelab.
The Linux box is a 5800X. It already runs the node private, public and P2Pool, plus the other jobs that box is for, Home Assistant, ausiobookhelf, and various other house infrastructure so it doesn't get the whole chip. That one shits in power saver and uses 10 threads of 16. Uses about 45 watts and runs between 30 and 40 degrees celsius. Depending on the day outside.
75 degrees is my soft cap on am4 and 85 on the am5 chips. I'll let them drift a bit past that but that is my line. Most of them never even touch these temps because I'm so anal about watts and temps. My 3950x sometimes goes to 50 degrees and it mines all out 24/7.
The Windows machine I actually sit at can spare some threads when it's just sitting there. Same reason you capped the Xeon at 8 cores. The library and the node matter more than the last core.
I have an Omarchy rig I run the same flex way also. It's my learning hub.
The CPU half of what you built is the real Monero. Pruned node, xmrig, only the cores you can spare. The P4000 isn't. CR29 is Tari's Cuckaroo-29, not RandomX. lolMiner on that card is not hashing Monero. The pool is paying you in XMR for another chain and quoting it back as 3.5 kH. Fine if that covers the VPN and the domain. It doesn't add to Monero's hashrate, so "if every homelab did this" only holds for the CPU half.
We don't chase that GPU quote. RandomX wants cores and memory latency.
Your +30W for 3.5 kH on cores the box already had is the part that makes sense. 74°C and +20°C on an 8-core slice also says leave the rest of that Xeon alone.
90W to pay for infra you already wanted is a sane target. Buying the P510 to mine would not have been. Incremental watts on a box that's already on, and only when power is cheap. Overnight is, here. Daytime isn't.
Gluetun hides your home IP from the pool. It doesn't make the pool forget you. You've already got the node. Point xmrig at your own P2Pool and leave the VPN for what actually has to leave the house. That's what the 5800X is doing.
7 kH against a network around 6.5 GH/s is a speck. That's fine. The useful part is the node, and paying the domain in XMR.
