Back when I read it @AilliA had a reply here w/ good points. There were enough legit points there I didn't feel the need to add anything much!

We need both: spreading the word AND actual curation/content quality.
HN is worth a daily check because it still surfaces the best things on the internet w/o the Twitter and social media noise, and the discussion there is usually worth reading.
HN was supposedly better before, which is what people say about everything. Once it got popular "NYT-style journosluts decided they wanted its front page", quality dipped, and now the LLM bots have showed up. It still works better than most places though (somehow?)
Stasher has to be useful to the person scrolling w/ their morning coffee, not just to the posters and tippers, who right now are mostly betting on what hits the top on Sunday.
Tips and rewards are fine, but if the feed is mostly circle jerk and gambling on Sunday rankings, regular readers won't stick around.
Quality is what makes the marketing worth doing.
Basically: what gets written here has to be worth reading.
This is the kind of sharp, honest criticism we need if the platform wants any real chance at growth. The echo chamber, or circle jerk as she more aptly put it, people throwing around their subjective opinions w/o much research or reasoning behind them, that kind of quality isn't platform growth oriented. A short simplistic take w/o research/reasoning/explanation isn't worth reading, even if aggressively agreeing w/ the Monero meta gets you (Sunday) brownie points. Those points don't make the end result any less mediocre.
