There is a fundamental problem with social media in general that can be addressed here. How do you boost content without agreeing with it? Assume you don't agree with something and consider it to be controversial, but you also consider it to be worth discussing and interesting. Do you upvote? Probably not. Do you downvote? Probably not. Now you want the conversation to continue, but you don't know how to express it. I think allowing for boosts outside of creators would fix this. You can say "I think this should be addressed" without implicitly agreeing with it. You could have boosts go to the rewards pool or turf, not the creator too, promoting neutrality. Given the fact that curation costs money here, I think it makes sense to try and encourage it monetarily. As I pointed out earlier, between tipping, turf revenue, referral revenue, and monerowall revenue, and weekly rewards I think this will be a great platform in terms of profitability. There are currently a lot of people who get boosts over low effort "thoughts?" posts, but that's part of social media in general. Those posts drive baseline engagement which benefits the platform (even if people don't like my low effort "thoughts?" posts). I do feel like my past posts may have suffered from "I think this should be discussed, but I neither agree nor disagree, or it is controversial, etc." in the past. I still post because it's an investment in the platform, the quality of feedback is high, etc. I earned ~$7 (forgive me @shortwavesurfer2009 for I have sinned) off of 3 paying viewers (with a 3/3 rating 3/3 BTW) on a platform with <400 users (#340845). That's pretty great by social media standards. And that was for a relatively short, but admittedly considerably well thought out post I generated a little hype for. I think growth is what will really drive long term platform profitability here. That requires the people who exist on surveillance dark pattern socials (traditional social media) to share the quality posts on here (including with compatible friends and family). Please do so.

Over time I think switching from rewarding curation to creation may make more sense (and that's not even a given considering my points about different income streams), but given the design of the site, we need the curation first for the algo formation.
