scammers are on bazaar who spend hours scamming for 20 bucks

To people who think I "catastrophize" the incentives and the bot problem: even a $50 FCMP++ Meme-Design Contest got flooded with bought likes and fake engagement. The organizer @Arkfile_OSP had to rewrite the prize rules because the signal collapsed. Genuine creativity and real votes get crowded out so easily...

ANALYSIS

Outliers:

#7 image "the ark has the whole fleet" - 115 likes/reposts - account has 78 followers [engagement seems artificial; image was somewhat patronizing; it was not supposed to be about arkfile]

#8 image "full chain movie poster derivative" - 103 likes/reposts - account has 50 followers [engagement seems artificial; post was a clear rip-off of my initial example]

(Consider I have ~320 followers, and rarely ever get those levels of engagement.)

---

Non-outliers, statistically:

#13 video "whole chain is the shield rap" - 64 likes/reposts - account has 35 followers [engagement seems fairly organic; it was an actual rap video; fairly creative]

---

Remaining top-ranked entries:

#14 image "robots 4-pane comic" - 40 likes/reposts - account has 600 followers [comic was decent, fairly creative and gets the point across about FCMP++]

#11 video "urban ultrasonic fcmp deploy" - 37 likes/reposts - account has 232 followers [good entry, engagement seems organic]

#10 image "is this the sender?" - 33 likes/reposts - account has 39 followers [good entry, creative]

#9 image "FCMP info poster" - 21 likes/reposts - account has 875 followers [engagement seems organic, on-topic]

---

I neither want to encourage or reward fake engagement, nor do I want to go back on my word. But I am going to modify the reward distribution, because there were allegations of dead/illegal voters voting in this election...

I am going to reward $10 in XMR to any of these top 7 entrants, but they must EMAIL me at one of my arkfile email addresses on the site, and provide a statement about why they support and appreciate MONERO specifically and PRIVACY in general. (None of the top 7 accounts have EVER tweeted anything about monero or privacy, sadly... Maybe today is a good day for them to start!)

I would also like to offer $10 in free credits and a bump to 10 GB storage cap on http://arkfile.net, to any and all of the 14 entrants in the contest. (Just DM with your username and I will apply it for you.)

Thank you all for participating and engaging and bringing your creativity to the problem of how to best promote FCMP++/Monero. #FCMPcontest

better you choose the winner @Arkfile_OSP , there is someone buying likes, and retweet to win this contest

@AilliA I didn’t mean you catastrophize the Clanker problem overall. I meant you’re jumping to the conclusion that Stasher would turn into Clankpocalypse the moment there’s even a bit of anonymization, slippery slope.

Arkfile should've put more thought into how to run that contest and instead of trying to run a covert advertisement for the Arkfile itself in guise of FCMP++ contest, put that $50 in use for fixing that bastard child of 90s factory SCADA and Claude design slop UI, looool.

You know what's curious, why does this concern leave your body when the topic is bazaar?
So far we had:

  • Clankers DMing people w/ slopcore "services", around until I neutered one it seems.
  • Clankers spreading forum w/ "engagement" that's nothing but low hanging fruit angles stated in most generic/robotic ways that you can smell from mile away.
  • Clankers spreading artifacts around both on listings and forum making it so obvious they're trying to test the site for some vulnerability, or in very least (less likely but) they're trying to troll the site?

Where're any policies about this, where're guardrails, where're discussions about how to contain and label it or something?
Where's your firey advocacy when they're doing these on the site YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH?
Clean your own backyard first?
Why aren't you ringing the bells about this THERE as well, if you're so concerned about it?
Do they not deserve your protection from the impending Clankpocalypse, there?

From outside it looks like you're working w/ a "challenging" team, which's unfortunate. And I'm only saying "challenging" here as a form of sarcasm. I'm sure there're more appropriate words for this, lol. And from what you're reporting it sounds like you have limited capacity to drive change due to "challenges" lol.

Would you like to pitch in or keep pleading the 5th on this? Maybe I'm failing to understand something about your stance, or you're not telling things. Please, enlighten us!

Maybe ask about it here, open another pool here about the slow creep of Clankpocalypse already happening on bazaar? Maybe you'd get another "revealing/surprising/actionable discussion"?
