The Weekly Hávamál

On this Wednesday (Woden's day (Odin)), I come to share with you the first stanza of the Hávamál. The Hávamál is said to be wisdom transmitted directly from Odin to his people. The composition of this work is thought to be a combination of 3-6 poems. Regardless of whether you believe this to be wisdom transmitted from the High One himself or wisdom from the wise men of the Norse and Germanic peoples, the poem within certainly has much valuable and timeless advice. Much can be learned from the wisdom of our ancestors.

Hávamál

The Words of Odin The High One

Wisdom for Wanderers and Counsel to Guests
1.
At every door-way,
ere one enters,
one should spy round,
one should pry round
for uncertain is the witting
that there be no foeman sitting,
within, before one on the floor

This stanza confers the importance of remaining wary when entering unfamiliar situations and to always be cognizant of the ever present danger of someone who seeks to ambush and harm you covertly. It is the start to a long poem, dense with wisdom, but also written in such a manner that it pulls the reader or listener in, making them eager to hear the rest.

I'll be doing one stanza a week with a short analysis on what is contained within. It's a good way to experience and learn an esoteric work that is relatively long and dense with wisdom.

Hail the old gods!

It's incredible how lulled to sleep we have become. Most reading this today might think it paranoid to be always looking for an ambush. But ambushes haven't diminished any. Only their form has changed.

It is. Danger never stopped and in many ways all that modernity has allowed is our enemies to stockpile arms and take better position against us while our defenses languish.

Not sure if you (or others reading this) have yet (I can't see since this is a pro-privacy site), but don't forget to subscribe. I have had quite a few people express interest in my works, but I don't always see engagement reflective of that. I don't require it from readers, but I do want to make sure the message is getting out where receipt is desired.

Done! I didn't know about that feature, thanks.

If you would you also be willing to share this site and my article (Intro to ONA) with Anarchonomicon on substack I would greatly appreciate it. I appreciate their work. I would also appreciate any substack author recommendations you have. I can provide a few myself. I posted asking for people's favorite shadow-banned creators, but it didn't get much traction. I like your site. Bookmarked. I'll provide more detailed feedback in the future.

I would be curious to read any Irish, South African, or Rhodesian substacks along the same vein if they exist. I surprisingly like a lot of Canadian conservative substack writers because it seems to me like they have progressed a lot further in experiencing the consequences and punishments of progressivism and our current path (I'm speaking of the US, but also the west broadly).
