Yesterday they banned Anna's Archive in Turkey after some minor court found some sort of violation about the platform.
I had a simple Cloudflare bridge I was keeping that rotates between known addresses of it. I shared that on Turkish Reddit like platform called eksi sozluk (meaning sour dictionary in Turkish): https://eksisozluk.com/entry/187684358
In short time bridge had over 10.000 requests:
and Anna's Archive started throttling cloudflare worker IPs w/ DDoS protection:
On account that the court only blocked one of their addresses and there're already workarounds (TOR/VPN that Turkish users are already familiar with due to frequent state overreach towards banning online platforms) and most of the requests were now hitting DDoS protection and it's against Cloudflare's ToS to use it both as bridge and for a platform like Anna's Archive, I ended up taking the bridge down that wasn't useful at that point anyways due to DDoS stuff.
Thank you for sharing this <3 and thank you for you service keeping access open 🫡 I’m also surprised AA was accessible at all: I remember a friend telling me that when Wikipedia(!) was blocked in Turkey and ppl downloaded it and shared local copies :))

This's @AilliA type of short story.
