its one thing to police your own actions and speech because of your own morality. but most of the time, for almost everyone, they police what theyre allowed to think about because they are afraid of social consequences. This is not good for the spiritually developing person.

The UK is a massive counterexample, as are all the anglo-descended nations to a slightly lesser extent, the least impacted being the US, significantly so. More people in the UK are arrested for saying things online per year than in china. Not just per capita, mind you, but nominally, so given the massive population disparity its way way worse rhan it sounds. Really really bad.

You can say that free speech or censorship resistance arguments dont compel you, but there is plenty you cant say in most places. Even not talking about violent threats or lies intended to cause damage, im sure you can think of something that you can't say right here. Even if it were something you wouldnt want to say...

We all police our speech. We police our thoughts. The idea of creating ultimate free speech environments is ultimately to grow as people by meditating on that and exercising not doing that anymore. Nobody should police their thouhyts; everyone should he deliberate in what they say. The ego conflates the two to protect itself, but be honest with yourself, you probably police your thoughts because of external pressure and then back rationalize it as being deliberate and thoughtful. Its almost always not.

Ultimately its good to have the tools even when you dont need them. By the time you need them its usually too late.

the goal is not to allow everyone to post for free, it is to allow noobs to post questions about xmr, as is thoroughly detailed in the post. it would only be for people without accounts that need to ask knowledgeable people one off questions, think "where to buy my first xmr" or "my wallet is showong 0 balance" or "why should i use monero".
