is there actually a point to learning new things right now? taking a gap year because i have no idea what to learn, or if it will even matter by the time i am done. feels like studying for a world that is already gone. dad was a programmer and did startups. i liked coding in school and thought that…
Welcome to Stasher. With this post, I want to introduce you to the funniest game powered by Monero, a privacy coin you can earn and spend to create insightful posts and thoughtful comments. I discovered Monero a long time ago, forgot about it, and this game gave me an opportunity to dust off my…
Great book. I like the way he thinks through issues. Reading him felt like a breath of fresh air because I feel like I think in a somewhat similar way, but he has thought through things I haven't. A great book on how a lack of tangible loss leads to people making disastrous choices for society.…
Some of you might know me as Monero Master who developed the MCEP . I've been featured on Monero Talk with Douglas Tuman and was an early adopter of XMR Bazaar . My day job is as a professional digital marketer who manages large amounts of ad spend for some of the largest tabletop gaming brands in…
Testosterone levels in men have been declining for decades. That's not my opinion, that's the meta-analyses. Sperm counts on the same slope. Something in the environment is moving the baseline and nobody in charge is asking why loudly enough. The science points at endocrine disruptors. Phthalates,…
Doki Doki Literature Club is a very famous video game, and rightfully so. The game seems quite innocent on the surface--a group of kids and the generic self-insert dating sim protagonist. This changes very quickly as you play the game, however. To make a very long and disturbing story short, Monika…
In the Cypherpunk board game , players use real encryption (one-time pads) and Monero to trade fake IDs, smash cameras, and overthrow a surveillance state.
The “I lost my keys in a boating accident” line is a favourite joke in both Bitcoin and Zcash circles. The joke was first started on r/Bitcoin in 2013 but it was @saylor who made the saying famous in 2021: "If you (government) push me too far, I lost it. It’s gone. Sorry. Tax…
I've been meaning to check this ever since I saw Spirobel's tweet last week. Browser wallets have been a routine part of other chains like Solana for a long time. They're pretty convenient. I think it's pretty neat: I just tried using it with Stasher: https://youtu.be/-xN-RzpOLww I know browser…
one benefit of building in the browser is that the instrumentation tools work very well. for example it is possible to slow down specific network requests with the old monero-wallet-rpc the issue was that the concurrency of the local http server was interleaved with the…
Photoshoot image: Hope this gives people a sense of the scope and scale of the game. Let me know if you are interested in playing it over Tabletop Simulator on Steam. I have a spare account you can use.
Unfortunately for work I have to use windows but for my personal computer I have always used PureOS or Debian. I've heard good things about Mint and was wondering if anyone has a preference for any specific Linux distro, and why that might be? I'm asking as I'm in the process of setting up a new…
I've been spending time on Stasher News and XMR Bazaar lately, and they're honestly the first places where Monero felt real to me — not just a coin to hold, but money you actually use. Tipping posts, buying things, no middlemen. But it got me wondering: these are still pretty niche corners of the…
Last Friday night in San Francisco, the REK team collaborated with influencer Frankie Lapenna in front of a live 100-person audience, for the world's first human vs robot fight. This event was not choreographed or faked in any way. Frankie signed the safety waiver, and we made sure to give him…
We just made history with the first Human VS Terminator robot fight. Frankie LaPenna gave it his all 🥊 More fight footage coming soon!
The arcade gets stronger with each new arrival. But what if it had to last the server? Yes. Stasher is a game about creating a community with no bank, no landlord, and no timezone. It's built on Monero because we want the ability to control our own value, to be censorship resistant and self…
Many creators are limited in reach because of a desire from social media corps and governments to control and censor messaging. Who would you recommend that people likely haven't heard of due to this effect? I enjoy mentaloutlaw, thehatedone, doingfedtime, and of course our own @xenumonero. I also…
Share your recommended Christmas gifts for 2026 that can be purchased with Monero. Follow this formula: Name: (of item / service) Category: (Food, Games, Tech, etc.) Region: (where can people order this?) Link: (to store where a purchase can be made in XMR) Note: (share a personal thought or review…
Hi, ek here! I used to work at Stacker News. I like what you created here! Forking a project with this ambition is a big compliment in my world. I'm curious about how you thought about sybil fees. I see you have chosen not to include them, so any tip goes 100% to the recipient. I know they suck,…
I've been thinking about how to use Monero transactions as a means of communicating covertly with another person. For example, if I sent you 0.000009830316 XMR using the code table above (you might need to download it to see it clearly) I would have communicated with you "WTB Fake ID". WTB =…
I have come to suspect that to most people thinking is painful. Some of us are addicted to thinking. Some of us find it a necessity. Johnny enjoyed it. I even have the suspicion that he enjoyed almost nothing else. -- Edward Teller, eulogizing John von Neumann I listened to Ananyo Bhattacharya's…
