This is good. Very very good book of the old ways.
There's a good starter by Jackson Crawford that uses more modern language and selected writings.

Yes, I have read the original.
I have been a member of Ásatrúarfélagið(Heathens) there hávamál is used as a source for ethical advices.
It is crazy how Christianity forced themself upon people. If people are good to each other, what does it matter what they belief in?
yes common law, but its weird how many people have been killed by on group trying to impose their moral code on other people and in doing so totally violate all the principles of the moral code that they say that have.
I'm heartened to see that norse paganism/Hellenism/Apollonianism and vitalism is spreading across the net. A few months ago I saw conservatives start to mention it derisively. Now they're mentioning it with less derision. I think the overton window is moving fast on this one. Not to mention the mention by the US secretary of war. It's also crazy that 3 people on this site with less than 500 users are sympathetic to the view. That's not nothing. If you extrapolate that out (3/500 =.6% x 195m white people in the US) that's 1.1 million people. Crazy. That being said, there is likely a huge selection bias here.
Whether or not the Hávamál was the true words of Odin, the wisdom in the text is undeniable. It is honestly hard to find other texts that are so dense with practical and obviously true advice on how to conduct yourself and deal with the various obstacles in life. Here are some passages from those who are curious, but not enough to read it:
At every door-way,
ere one enters,
one should spy round,
one should pry round
for uncertain is the witting
that there be no foeman sitting,
within, before one on the floor
A coward believes he will ever live
if he keep him safe from strife:
but old age leaves him not long in peace
though spears may spare his life.
Let a man never stir on his road a step
without his weapons of war;
for unsure is the knowing when need shall arise
of a spear on the way without.
Absolutely based.
a code to live by, the world would be in a vastly different place if whites weren't pacified by jewish religion.
I absolutely agree. I think Christianity is what killed one of the most free societies ever as one example. If you haven't checked out the other comments and posts I've made here I think you should. Seems you and I are pretty aligned.
