I hate Google. Fuck, I really want to run GrapheneOS but Pixels aren't sold in my country, and if I try to import one the state extorts a fortune from me.
Have someone buy it for you when they visit a country where it is sold. Or have someone sell you 3 shipments of boxes of parts that combine to form a grapheneos phone.
Also, check to see if the new Motorola grapheneos phone will sell in your country.
Actually, getting the phone into the country isn't the issue. If you don't register a foreign phone in my country, they completely block it from the network after a few months. There’s a temporary grace period that resets every year, but even with that, the phone becomes a useless brick for half the year. And the government's registration fee is literally the price of a second phone.

Buy a hot spot, use it WiFi only, and use an always on VPN/Tor paid for in monero (make sure you can use it in your country). Or you can buy an alternative phone and only use that as a hot spot for the graphene phone. You could literally destroy or remove the camera, GPS, and microphone on the hotspot phone to make it exclusively a hot spot.
but grapheneos will not be affected by this right? stock android gets the block but grapheneos is not stock. if the lockdown is through play services, the custom os is the out.
The issue isn't GrapheneOS or custom ROMs; it's the lack of institutional support. Your bank, government, and school may not provide apps that are compatible with non-standard OS builds. In an era of strict device attestation, a phone that isn't "trusted" by these institutions becomes nearly useless.
The issue is that the cunts who attempt to rule us feel safe from all consequences and the people they rule lack the will to power to administer those consequences. They will continue until they are stopped. Riots and protests mean nothing now because the implicit threat of violence underlying them is either feckless or easily misdirected to the point of being effectively meaningless.
