Have you ever been fishing at sea? Fishermen typically cast a large net, and when they haul it in, they find not only fish and shrimp but also a variety of other things—including, at times, human-made trash. The crew usually sorts through the catch, keeping the fish and shrimp while discarding the debris. If a fisherman were so afraid of catching trash that he dared not cast his net, he would likely end up with very little to show for his efforts.

If a platform imposes fees on posts and replies from the very beginning—out of fear of bots or low-quality content—it will severely hinder the site’s growth.

Perhaps we should take a page from that fisherman’s book: cast the net wide, and then sort through the catch afterward.
In other words, we could allow free posting and replying for an initial period—be it three months, five months, a year, or even two years—without worrying too much about bots or low-quality content. Once the site has gained significant traction and popularity, we could then introduce fees, at which point the bots and low-quality posts would naturally be filtered out.
Meanwhile, the site would have been able to grow at a rapid pace.
