Last year I was buying a domain through regery.com. I checked out using CoinGate and paid with Litecoin (they don't support Monero.) Before I sent the payment to CoinGate, I sent funds to myself from Litecoin's MWEB and paid with that fresh address.

CoinGate took the coins, marked my transactiom as invalid (so my domain was not registered) and told me if I wanted a refund to do biometric and ID verificatiom before I could get my money back.

It was a $7 invoice. They ended up stealing my money because I didn't send biometrics to them.

This type of practice should be illegal as hell. Here is their final e-mail saying they are stealing my money

When buying domains always check the directories like monerica and kycnot.me and best use XMR to pay.

FlokiNet like you used is ideal

I have my domain hosted at incognet.io and I'm able to pay for it with Monero.

Thanks for the heads up. I used FlokiNET - can pay with Monero

WOW

Is that because of the MWEB history you think? Did they not give a specific reason, just "invalid"?

This might be the first report of a Litecoin MWEB transaction being discriminated against for its use of optional privacy.

I know that they cited "compliance" as a reason why they said my transaction was invalid - as shown in the image. They may or may not have said "suspicious" - I honestly don't remember. I can still see the transaction on their payment gateway in my head, but I'm unsure of the exact wording that was used.

Can't go without verifying the identity of a suspicious $7 transaction. lol
