Today's Dead Drop. A spot where messages get left for pickup.

Anything goes: introduce yourself, drop links, ask questions, comment on recent events, share half-formed ideas, and whatever else doesn't need its own post.

A new drop goes up every day at 00:00 UTC.

I set up a fake business on Google maps to test some location based carrier offload functionality. State is so fast in reminding me that I can't operate unregistered business w/o giving taxes, lol. This's the second time they're sending something like this for a dummy business that doesn't exist and I used a name like ACME Corporation from a fictional universe.

They don't bother to check if such company actually exists. They're looking on the map and don't finding the name on their list and sending mails.

I heard a rumor California counties actually monitor Google earth/sat view sites to see if people add unpermitted additions to their backyard (they probably rely on snitching primarily). Quite a dystopia.

Is there any way to flag types of posts.
Like could i set it up so that i get a notif from stasher so that i don't miss one of my own posts?

reply

You can subscribe to a post and it will notify you when it has new replies. You can also subscribe to a specific stasher, so you'll get notified when they post.

To avoid burnout, use the 30/30 rule:

After 30 minutes of work, quit your job.

And disappear on a remote island for 30 years.

I just want to reiterate how much I am enjoying Stasher. I find the reddit style social media where content is grouped by topic to be my favorite way of doing social media. I absolutely LOVE the daily ops because it forces me to open my Monero wallet every single day and tip something. That keeps me very close to fully synced with the chain and keeps syncing from being a chore. Somebody I know just sent me some change in Monero, and when they opened their wallet, they had to synchronize 30,000 blocks, and Stasher prevents that from occurring to me.

reply

I could not agree more. I also find that the content is more engaging/interesting on here in comparison to other sites.

Even if I don't agree with some people's views, they're great to hear.

reply

It also feels like people are more willing to engage in discussing opposing viewpoints here. And in good faith too. I greatly appreciate it.

Honestly reddit (and many other socials) mostly sucks because of bots and mods. So far this site has neither. The sync thing is convenient too.

Life's good. Fungibility matters.
