I never think it’s a great idea to publicly proclaim you are withholding tax, or to publicly talk about organized withholding tax events like Jocko Willink and others are considering as a protest measure.
That said withholding tax is a fast way to curb governments, cause reform and reshape the political landscape. Mass tax withholding would change our communities pretty fast.
X app is an eco chamber. Whatever your view the algo finds you a community and makes sure you think ‘everyone’ thinks the same so it is a poor gauge for social views.
But when I see lots of examples like - two women in a coffee shop complaining about Russia being the new ‘weapons of mass destruction’ for entering phony wars, or a 15 year old asking his Mom why politicians are always crooks? I think there is a big opportunity.
Monero is a quiet way to withhold tax. No big proclamation. No value signalling. Just do it quietly. Start with a part of your income and put more of your money on dark mode over time.
If the Monero community focused on the disheartened and disenfranchised people in the community (where I believe there are massively increasing numbers) we might have a way to radically lift Monero adoption.

My point is that we could collectively target the next 1% of Monero users. Maybe it isn’t the dissidents, but instead of all of us posting “get Monero” to nobody all week what if we got more organised and more targeted in our shill skills and on mass start shilling like villains focused and working together to tractor beam noobs into the fold?
We have marketing people in the community to help identify a target group. People who know how to develop and test branding and messaging etc. We don't need a CCS.

The tax issue is a good litmus test of intelligence.
Whenever I introduce people to the ideas of freedom or Monero and they mention how these tools can help people evade taxes, I know I have found someone with potential. For obvious reasons, I never openly advocate tax evasion.
of course, paying taxes is just and good and they only use it for righteous and noble purposes, but it's the old story isn't it? a man who doesn't earn any money doesn't have any taxes to pay.,
I think Monero already does a good job advertising this itself simply by being what it is.
Anyone with the mental capacity would put two and two together and come to the conclusion that Monero is something to their benefit if they are concerned about taxes.
In general, I try to stay away from suggesting this idea that Monero helps evade taxes simply because I don't want to draw attention to myself and also because I feel it would paint monero in a negative light to the normie brain.
But of course, that doesn't stop anyone else who wants to highlight this aspect or ability that Monero gives users, from doing so.
By all means, start a movement. Use Stasher. Make calls to action, a concrete plan, and see who follows. Good ideas lead movements.
99 % of monero is probably held by normie investors that haven't ever done a tx onchain. of the 1% or whatever it is that use it the majority is just probably old guys like us who are buying industrial quantitites of street legal chopsticks and laxatives to try to get the bowels moving.
